Father Jack

Ever since a chunk of cavern wall broke loose and landed squarely on his head about a year ago, Father Jack has been a bit uncertain about all that happened in his life before that moment. That he is a priest of The Right and Holy Six is certain; but is equally certain that his inherent lack of regard for bureaucratic hierarchy has lead him to practice his ministry outside the mainstream Church of Bereny.

From what bits and pieces of his life that he can recall, he was one of the younger children of a farming family which tilled the soil southeast of the City of Hasjan. He was a rebellious, utterly fearless, child who gave his parents equal measures of heart ache and heart attacks. Finally, out of frustration, his parents shipped him off to a seminary located within one of the churches in Hasjan.

Depending upon who you talk to from among the priests who instructed him, Father Jack either barely passed the qualifications to be ordained, or was ordained to avoid embarrassing the teachers who had failed to succeed in getting him to tolerate the structure and procedures within the Church of Bereny.

Father Jack does recall vividly the first time he descended into the Caverns of Hasjan and the thrills of taking on lizardmen and the various and sundry monsters that inhabitant the depths of that place. The thrill of combat, especially while, outnumbered lead him to seek out those who called themselves the Walkers on the Edge.

Since that chunk of rock nearly caved in his skull, Father Jack has become more pious and meditative. Some whisper that perhaps that chunk of rock fell with divine purpose, rather than coincidence. Although he retains his flagrant lack of regard for his own skin when combat presents itself and his uncompromising dislike of bureaucracies, there are whispers that he has recently achieved the rank of Scholar of Selador.
