Little is known of the swordsman called Manin, except that he is the son of a military family. Attempts to discern more about his past are dismissed as "irrelevant".

Generally Manin isn't much of a talker, when he does open his mouth it tends to indicate a personality (or lack of one) that makes an animate seem warm! Manin focuses on efficiency and functionality, he's a competent fighter, but his void of a personality makes him rather frustrating company.
